Job Description

The Secondary School Teacher (English) at Nexus engages in inquiry-based teaching strategies to create an enriching educational experience for learners from years 7 to 13. The teacher will deliver curricula including the IB MYP, IGCSE, and IBDP, ensuring that students are inspired and supported in their learning journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.
  • Support students in developing critical thinking and communication skills.
  • Organize and participate in extracurricular activities to promote student engagement.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student performance.

Job Requirements

A recognised teaching qualification is required.

Bachelor's degree or higher in English, Literature, Linguistics, Education, or a related field is necessary.

Evidence of continued relevant professional development is expected.

Experience working with bilingual and multilingual learners and learners with diverse needs is required.

At least 2 years of relevant experience in an international school environment focused on IBMYP, IGCSE, or IBDP is preferred.
