Job Description
The Senior Corrosion Engineer position is part of the Asia-Pacific Materials Integrity team based in Kuala Lumpur. This role provides engineering support to Capital Projects and Operations across various business lines within ExxonMobil. The position involves technical engineering decision-making with responsibilities that include providing material-related engineering surveillance and support, solving complex problems with technical expertise and business acumen, developing and implementing new technology and innovative solutions, supporting large capital and smaller regional projects, participating in reliability and maintenance optimization programs, mentoring early career engineers, and representing the company in industry and external engagements. The role specifically requires expertise in corrosion mechanisms, integrity management, risk assessment, and predictive corrosion modeling in the oil and gas industry.
Job Requirements
Have at least 10 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry.
Demonstrate work experience and knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Asset Integrity Management, Materials selection, Failure Analysis, Corrosion control.
Have a Bachelor's, Master's Degree, or PhD in Materials Engineering.
Demonstrate collaboration across the organization and with external relationships.
Demonstrate capability to influence without direct authority or beyond core technical discipline.
Demonstrate personal ownership for developing self and others.
Promote innovation and compete to win in the marketplace.
Have flexibility to travel internationally to work sites and shop fabrication locations as per business needs.
