Job Description
The Senior Lecturer - Economics is responsible for undertaking teaching and related duties including design, preparation, and development of teaching materials, conducting classes, tutorials, and practical sessions, as well as student consultation, invigilation, marking, and assessment. The role involves contributing to programme and curriculum development, supporting research projects and postgraduate scholarship, and maintaining high standards in teaching and learning in alignment with the University's expectations. Additionally, the Senior Lecturer will engage in scholarly activities such as research, conference presentations, journal publications, and community work. The position includes efforts to secure research grants, administrative responsibilities involving departmental and faculty committees, participation in professional development, and establishing external academic linkages.
Job Requirements
Possess a PhD from a recognised university in Economics, or other related fields.
Have at least three years of experience in teaching or industry.
Possess a strong publication record with at least three publications in C.I. journals (ISI, SCOPUS) in the last five years.
Have secured research grant(s) as a Principal Investigator worth RM30,000-RM50,000 (cumulative).
Have graduated at least one Master Degree student.
Have an H-index of minimum 3 (Scopus).
Experience working in higher education and with a track record of teaching experience and professional knowledge of curriculum development or professional experience with evidence of coaching, mentoring, and presentation skills.
Experience in developing teaching methodologies and materials, including use of IT technologies in teaching and learning facilitation.
Experience working on research projects or professional practice/consultancy work, with evidence of outputs.
