The Senior Lecturer in Events Management is responsible for teaching, curriculum development, and supporting postgraduate research. The role also includes engaging in scholarly activities such as research, presentations, publications, and administrative duties within the academic department and external professional organizations.
The Senior Lecturer - Events Management is responsible for undertaking various teaching and learning duties such as designing, preparing, and developing teaching materials, conducting classes and tutorials, and supporting postgraduate research. This role also involves contributing to curriculum development, implementing teaching strategies to optimize student learning, and maintaining high standards of teaching as per the university's expectations. In addition to teaching, the role requires active participation in scholarly activities including research, conference presentations, journal publications, and securing research grants. The Senior Lecturer will also have administrative responsibilities, such as attending departmental meetings and participating in committees, as well as establishing linkages with external organisations and professional bodies.
Possess a doctoral degree or equivalent from a recognised university in Tourism/Events Management.
Candidates with a Master Degree in Tourism/Events Management must have at least 2 years working experience in the events management industry.
Preferably possess a Scopus h-index of 3.
Have graduated at least 1 Master Degree student.
Have at least 2 publications in C.I. journals (ISI, SCOPUS) within the last five years.
Have secured research grant(s) as a Principal Investigator worth at least RM20,000.
Experience working in a higher education environment with teaching experience and professional knowledge of curriculum development or professional experience with evidence of coaching, mentoring, and high-quality presentation skills.
Experience in developing teaching methodologies and materials, including effective use of IT technologies for teaching and learning.
Experience working on research projects and activities or professional practice/consultancy work with evidence of appropriate outputs.
