The Senior Lecturer in Hospitality Management is responsible for teaching and related duties, including design, preparation, and development of teaching materials, conducting classes and tutorials, student consultation, invigilation, marking, and assessment. The role includes contributing to program and curriculum development, planning and implementing teaching strategies to optimize student learning and motivate students, supporting postgraduate research projects, and maintaining high teaching and learning standards in line with university expectations. In addition to teaching, the Senior Lecturer engages in research activities such as conducting research, presenting at conferences, publishing in journals, securing research grants as a co-researcher, and achieving specific research outcome targets. The role also involves administrative responsibilities, including attending meetings, participating in committees, continuous professional development, and establishing linkages with external organizations and professional bodies related to academic matters.
Possess a PhD from a recognised university in Hospitality or other relevant fields.
Have at least two years of experience in teaching, research, or industry.
Possess a strong publication record with at least 2-4 publications in C.I. journals (ISI, SCOPUS) in the last 5 years.
Have secured research grant(s) as a Principal Investigator worth RM20,000-RM30,000 (cumulative).
Have experience working in a higher education environment and a track record of teaching and professional knowledge in curriculum development or evidence of coaching, mentoring, and high-quality presentation skills.
Have experience in developing teaching methodologies and materials, including effective use of IT technologies in teaching and learning.
Have experience working on research projects, professional practice, or consultancy work with evidence of appropriate outputs.
