The Senior Lecturer in Interactive Spatial Design is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences, contributing to research and scholarly activities, and providing mentorship and guidance to students within the Interactive Spatial Design Programme. This role involves shaping the next generation of designers who integrate technology and design principles to create innovative and engaging spatial experiences.
Job Requirements
PhD in Interactive Spatial Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
Publication in C.I. journal (ISI, SCOPUS) in the last five years with at least 3 publications.
Secured research grant(s) as a Principal Investigator worth a minimum of RM20,000 (cumulative).
Graduated at least one Master student.
Experience in using emerging technologies such as augmented reality, virtual reality, or mixed reality.
Experience with VR, AR, and MR platforms and equipment.
Experience with 3D editing/Design software such as Unreal Engine and/or Unity Engine, Blender, Touch designer, Arduino, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Design Suite, Enscape, Revit, and AutoCAD is a plus.
Basic video editing skills for production and documentation purposes.
Creative thinking and the ability to contribute new ideas and concepts.
Experience working in higher education environment with teaching experience and professional knowledge of curriculum development or evidence of coaching and mentoring and high-quality presentation skills.
Experience working on research projects and activities or professional practice/consultancy work with appropriate outputs.
Demonstrated links to relevant external organisations and/or the profession.
A track record of peer-reviewed publications in reputable journals or conference proceedings.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and inspire students.
A passion for design, technology, and education, with a commitment to fostering a vibrant learning community.
