The Senior Lecturer in Orthopaedics undertakes a combination of teaching, research, and administrative duties. In teaching, the role involves designing and preparing materials, conducting lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions, engaging in curriculum development, and supporting postgraduate research projects. The lecturer is expected to maintain high teaching standards and optimize student learning experiences. In research, the role includes participating in scholarly activities such as research projects, conference presentations, publications, and community work. The Senior Lecturer is also involved in efforts to secure research grants and achieve research outcome targets appropriate to this level. Additionally, administrative responsibilities include attending meetings, participating in committees, engaging in professional activities, and establishing linkages with external organizations and professional bodies.
Possess a Master Degree or Doctoral Degree in Orthopaedics from a reputable institution with at least three years of relevant teaching experience.
Possess an undergraduate degree in medicine (MBBS or equivalent) with full registration and an Annual Practitioners Certificate from the Malaysian Medical Council.
Possession of an NSR registration in Orthopaedics is an advantage.
Preferably have an h-index of 4.
Have graduated at least one Master Degree student.
Have published four papers in C.I. journals (ISI, SCOPUS) in the last five years.
Have secured research grant(s) as a Principal Investigator worth RM75,000 - RM100,000.
Possess at least one Intellectual Property (IP) in the form of patents, copyrights, or trademarks.
Experience working in a higher education environment with a track record of teaching experience and knowledge of curriculum development, coaching, mentoring, and high-quality presentation skills.
Experience in developing teaching methodologies and materials, including effective use of IT technologies in teaching and learning facilitation.
Experience working on research projects and activities or in professional practice/consultancy with evidence of appropriate outputs.
Demonstrated links to relevant external organisations and/or the profession.
