The role of Senior Lecturer in Psychology involves teaching, mentoring students, and leading research projects within a university setting. The Senior Lecturer - Psychology is responsible for teaching and related educational duties, including the design, preparation, and development of teaching materials, conducting classes and tutorials, student consultation, invigilation, marking, and assessment. This role involves contributing to high-quality programme and curriculum development, planning and implementing teaching strategies to optimize student learning, supporting postgraduate research projects, and maintaining high standards of teaching in line with university expectations. The position also engages in scholarly activities such as conducting research, presenting at conferences, publishing journals, and participating in community work. The incumbent supports securing research grants, meets research outcome targets, undertakes administrative responsibilities, participates in departmental and faculty committees, engages in professional development, and assists in establishing external academic linkages.
Possess a PhD from a recognised university in Psychology or other relevant fields.
Have at least two years of experience in teaching, research, or industry.
Have a strong publication record with at least 2-4 publications in C.I. journals (ISI, SCOPUS) in the last 5 years.
Have secured research grants as a Principal Investigator worth RM20,000-RM30,000 (cumulative).
Have experience working in a higher education environment and a track record of teaching experience and professional knowledge of curriculum development or a good record of professional experience with evidence of coaching, mentoring, and high-quality presentation skills.
Have experience in developing teaching methodologies and materials, including the effective use of IT technologies in teaching and learning facilitation.
Have experience working on research projects, professional practice, or consultancy work, including evidence of appropriate outputs.
