The Senior Lecturer in Special Education Needs is responsible for teaching, curriculum development, and supporting postgraduate research within a university setting. The Senior Lecturer in Special Education Needs is responsible for teaching and related duties such as designing, preparing, and developing teaching materials, conducting classes, tutorials, and practicals, consulting with students, invigilating, marking, and assessment. The role involves contributing to high quality programme and curriculum development, planning and implementing teaching strategies to optimize and motivate student learning, supporting postgraduate research projects, and maintaining high standards of teaching and learning in line with the university's expectations. The role also includes engaging in scholarly research activities such as undertaking research, presenting at conferences, publishing in journals, supporting grant applications as a co-researcher, and achieving research outcome targets. Additionally, the Senior Lecturer participates in administrative responsibilities including attending departmental meetings, participating in committees and working groups, engaging in professional development activities, and assisting in establishing linkages with external organizations or professional bodies in academic matters.
Possess a PhD from a recognised university in Special Education Needs or other relevant fields.
Have at least two years of experience in teaching, research, or industry.
Possess a strong publication record with at least 2-4 publications in C.I. journals (ISI, SCOPUS) in the last 5 years.
Have secured research grant(s) as a Principal Investigator worth RM20,000-RM30,000 cumulative.
Have experience working in a higher education environment and a track record of teaching experience and professional knowledge of curriculum development or good professional experience with evidence of coaching, mentoring, and high-quality presentation skills.
Have experience in developing teaching methodologies and materials, including effective use of IT technologies in teaching and learning facilitation.
Have experience working on research projects and activities or professional practice/consultancy work with evidence of appropriate outputs.
