The Senior Lecturer - Tourism & Events is responsible for delivering teaching and learning activities including the design, preparation, and development of teaching materials. The role includes conducting classes, tutorials, and practical sessions, consulting with students, invigilation, marking, and assessment. The lecturer contributes to programme and curriculum development, supports postgraduate research projects, and maintains high standards of teaching and effective learning in line with university expectations. In addition to teaching, the Senior Lecturer engages in scholarly research activities such as conducting research, presenting at conferences, publishing in journals, and participating in community work. The role involves supporting grant applications and achieving research outcome targets appropriate for the senior lecturer level. Administrative duties include attending departmental meetings, participating in committees, and fostering linkages with external organizations and professional bodies.
Possess a PhD from a recognised university in Tourism, Hospitality or other relevant fields.
Candidate must have at least two (2) years of experience in teaching, research or industry.
Possess a strong publication record with at least 2-4 publications in C.I. journals (ISI, SCOPUS) in the last 5 years.
Secured research grant(s) as a Principal Investigator worth RM20,000-RM30,000 (cumulative).
Experience working in higher education environment with a track record of teaching experience and professional knowledge of curriculum development or evidence of coaching and mentoring with high quality presentation skills.
Experience in developing teaching methodologies and materials, including effective use of IT technologies in teaching and learning.
Experience working on research projects and activities or experience of professional practice or consultancy work with evidence of appropriate outputs.
