The Senior Specialist Nurse in the Operating Theatre is responsible for providing comprehensive perioperative care to patients. This role involves assisting in surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment, and ensuring patient safety throughout the surgical process.
Job Description
Provide advanced perioperative nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures in accordance with clinical standards. Function independently as Scrub Nurse and Circulating Nurse for various surgical specialties. Assist surgeons and anaesthetists during operative procedures, ensuring smooth workflow and patient safety. Prepare and maintain the operating theatre environment and ensure compliance with aseptic techniques.
Job Requirements
Registered Nurse with valid practicing license
Experience in perioperative nursing
Strong knowledge of surgical procedures
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to patient safety and quality care
Willingness to work on-call and after hours
Participation in training and quality improvement initiatives
