Role Summary

The State Registered Nurse in Labour & Delivery is responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients. This role involves supervising unit activities and ensuring adherence to nursing policies while delivering compassionate care to new mothers and their infants.

Job Description

In this role, the nurse will engage in daily patient assessments, execute medical orders, and provide emotional support to families in a dynamic healthcare environment. The nurse will also participate in health education initiatives to promote wellness among new mothers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patient conditions and monitor vital signs.
  • Execute doctor's orders and administer medications as prescribed.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to new mothers.
  • Supervise unit activities and ensure compliance with nursing policies.
  • Participate in health education initiatives for patients and families.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize patient care.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and training.

Job Requirements

Registered with the Nursing Board of Malaysia with a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse

Advance Diploma in Midwifery

At least 3 years of clinical experience

Certifications in BLS, ACLS, MTLS, PALS, and NRP

Proficient in writing and conversing in English

Ability to participate in the teaching program of the unit

Strong commitment to continuous professional development
