The Subject Teacher & Learning Area Leader is responsible for teaching secondary-level students in Visual Art. This role emphasizes inquiry-based teaching strategies to create a motivating learning environment that encourages students to become proactive, lifelong learners and leaders.
Job Description
In this position, you will engage with students from years 7 to 13, delivering the IB MYP, IGCSE, and IBDP curricula. You will collaborate with colleagues and support learners in achieving personal excellence through effective pedagogy and engagement with parents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging lessons in Visual Art for secondary-level students.
- Implement inquiry-based teaching strategies to enhance student learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and improve curriculum delivery.
- Support students in achieving their personal and academic goals.
- Engage with parents to foster a supportive learning environment.
- Assess and evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills.
Job Requirements
A recognised teaching qualification is required.
A Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Education, Fine Arts, Visual Arts Education, or a related field is necessary.
Evidence of continued relevant professional development.
Experience working with bilingual and multilingual learners and learners with diverse needs.
At least 2 years of relevant experience in an international school environment focusing on IBMYP, IGCSE, or IBDP curricula is preferred.
