Job Description
The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IBMYP) Coordinator works closely with MYP teachers, Learning Area Leaders, PYP and IBDP Coordinators, and the Senior Leadership Team to lead the pedagogical and administrative overview of the IB Middle Years Programme. This position reports to the Deputy Head and Head of Secondary and involves teaching no more than 50% of a full timetable. The role includes providing pedagogical leadership, ensuring curriculum requirements are met, supporting staff training, tracking learner progress, facilitating interdisciplinary learning, leading the Year 9 Community Project, supporting learner induction, and collaborating with parents and other school leaders to maintain programme standards and practices.
Job Requirements
A degree plus teaching qualification (or equivalent).
Higher degree or recognised professional qualification (preferred).
Proficient in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Evidence of continued relevant professional development.
A good understanding of the IB MYP programme and IB philosophy.
A strong appreciation of the ATL skills required to be a successful learner.
Well developed organisational skills.
Very good interpersonal skills.
Ability to present to large and small groups of adults and learners from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to maintain accurate records and track progress.
Ability to work under pressure and retain a sense of humour.
Experience in teaching learners with diverse needs, especially those with English as a second language.
Experience in an international school environment.
Experience of teaching the MYP.
Curriculum leadership experience.
