totally different industry, hard to cope

Clients are often demanding and unfriendly

Unprofessional Manager: 1. Need to spoon feeding even the location of files and applications. 2. Fails to communicate clear expectations for outcomes, constantly request for simple deck or draft 3. Takes credit 4. Less support 5. Directly assign complicated and difficult tasks, only check, monitor and validate. 6. Fails to provide proper knowledge transfer, leaving to try and error every time 7. Will not involving in any testing or documentations, only responsible for running the project. 8. Feel like doing personal assistance's job.

- Sometimes work pass working hours - Fixed 4D WFO 1D WFH, should have flexibility based on role eg. WFH if not customer-facing role

Cyberjaya not very good place

Over working time , hard to get client , use your own net working .

Higher management does not care about below

The senior managers are outdated bullies who look down on the rest of the team as being beneath them. The worst being the SEO level managers. There is no clear structure in the Group Office team. Women are promoted on practically a daily basis so that the company looks progressive even though the majority promoted are not skilled or experienced enough to manage a department. One woman during my time with AIA was promoted based on the fact that she and her husband, who is an high ranking political figure in Singapore are friends with the Group CEO. Everyone smiles and nods when asked if everything is ok. If you say otherwise you are fired! Racism is rife!! The worst being the Singaporean workers! They hate the HK employees and hate any one who is European not that there are many of those as the Chinese are firing as many white people as they can! Every single black person bar one has been fired and replaced with a Chinese person. The Indian workers are all on tender hooks and totally paranoid about their positions as they too are victims of open racism, but if asked they would always deny in fear of being fired. Nothing about this company is positive!

- Terrible management - Terrible work/life balance (Expected to work on Saturdays even though it is listed as optional) - OT pay has to be pre-approved, even if an unreasonable amount of work to be completed by end of day was given. - No opportunity for career advancement. - Low starting pay

The software used is a bit outdated

Front-office role requires a lot of people mining and prospecting Clients can request to meet during weekends and we have to cater to them It's a personality-dependent job. Generally extroverts are a lot easier to start

Sometimes we're left out of planning and discussions, especially those involving long-term improvements or teamwork across departments, which leads to confusion in our work

No support, have to search your own customer

- some micro managers are nasty - increment generally around 3-5% - strict 1 day wfh policy - insurance DOES NOT cover pregnancy

While there are helpful colleagues, there are times when support can be inconsistent

internal colleagues some are toxic and talk behind back

Found that direction from leadership was often vague, and role definitions were unclear. This led to inefficiencies and a sense of uncertainty about priorities and responsibilities within the team/department. Experienced a toxic work environment characterized by significant internal complaints and a perceived lack of trust among colleagues and management. This often manifested as backchanneling rather than direct problem-solving. Noticed a clear pattern of favoritism from management, where certain individuals seemed to receive better opportunities or treatment regardless of performance.

Time consuming need to hit sales

HR and leader wont help staff, they serve the top only. Big boys club at the top. Pretend international, but act very local and control like a school. Work with people disrespectful. Criticism and think they are giving you feedback, but it won't do you any good beside distort you. Long hour and no private time, they expect to give you work ay 6pm and give them overnight, but without looking at the work immediately, no urgency but like to push everything with a tight timeline. Work on things not with a vision and leader focus on minor stuff, such as format, colour.... Horrible place.

Forced to take more than 80 hours OT per month, although it’s paid, we are not given a choice to reject nor reduce.

As tough as it gets for promotion and increments the higher you climb. Competitive is not the word, but don't expect to be fairly compensated for your hard work, its a dice roll. Being great at your job grants you the dice roll at the end of your review period, but there's a big chance you fail that roll, and there's nothing you could have done about it :(

Poor management, not enough support to staff

Head of Product and Director Head are friend that support each other decision. No one can say bad thing or comment on their works. Many in the team afraid to speak out to give feedbacks. No leadership skill, more like boss. Release ALive app v 3.0 , many stat down but no one looking at data. Why? Only care about present nice number to management. Spend money on MV and create mascots. But does not help with app or solve the user issue. On day that we're all in office sometime we have to wait to use toilet as not enough toilet stalls. The men don't have this issue.

No career progression, lack of backfilling roles

Always multitask, unlimited assignments and projects

high pressure working environment & complicated politics

Need to pacify clients a lot of times because of slow processes, website downtimes, etc. And you are not paid during all these pacifying because you’re only paid when you sell, clients pays their subsequent premium (product-dependent), qualified for bonuses (depends on income, % of sustained policies)

Decisions are mainly made by leaders or behind the scenes and there aren't many chances for team members to offer ideas or improvements. This can make it feel like our input isn't valued.

- too much bureaucracy - lagging in AI

Hard to convert to a full time permanent headcount for a fresh graduate.

Not really. A company that is always looking for ways to improve and grow leveraging on Technology.
