Best company to work so need some more perk

- Company seems to have shifted away from maintaining current infrastructure to save money, this will bite them at some point

Subregions don't get the same attention as the HQ

Very little flexibility to change work process to match larger scale projects. Company has little EPC experience, leading managers to make expensive mistakes. Understaffed, high turn-around, unrealistic schedules.

The only complaint I could possibly have about Air Products is potentially having to deal with many time zone differences, but that seems to be very easily solved by employees who understand and value each other's schedules and availability.

Nothing as such as per current experience.

-Pay, there use to be upward mobility in pay but AP went to a Market Adjustment type of cost-of-living raise. They did away with performance based real raises and now everyone gets the same small percentage raise. They have taken away the managers ability to give raises so this position is now just a stepping stone. The turnover is pretty high because of this. - Long 12 hour work days with little to no break - High Stress at times - Have to work a Dayshift/Nightshift schedule

Nothing much, but can improve on systems a bit more.

AP is in the middle of a huge growth plan. There are growing pains as we develop new process and procedures that fit with the new corporate franchise vision.

Unorganized and very uptight company they will try and make you job scared as much as possible

With some company downsizing and downturn in natural gas market morale is low. Some uncertainty about the future. Which is a distraction to the shop flow.

Not sure I would have taken the position if I knew they were going to close our DC down a year later. It was pretty poorly communicated.

Lost a lot of the "family" feel amongst coworkers due to layoffs and restructuring. Management driven by stock price. Constant changes, leading to confusion and loss of secure feeling.

Runs "lean" Cut commission plan for sales rep

This is a very large company. Not for people who want a more informal, smaller working environment.

Although close to major cities, not a big city to live in.

Industrial gas isn't always the most exciting industry.

I worked @ AP for > 35 years. I was encouraged to get a flu shot every year. When I retired, out of habit, I went to the same place AP designated for flu shots, and I was denied. Yes, denied a $25 shot, some places for free. I went there out of convenience, not $25. It is sad I was encouraged all those years to get a shot, to maintain productivity, but after retirement, AP doesn't care about the employee. Maybe their thought process is I will die if I don't get the flu shot and they will no longer have to pay me my pension? All about the EBIDTA. My, AP has changed.

System are antiquated and the management perspective is very out dated. Office is based in one of the highest crime areas in Houston with at least one shooting or stabbing in the area per month.

It used to be a good company to work for until about 18 months ago, since then the cons outweigh the pros sadly, fewer long term employees, increasing number of temporary employees.

No major cons - Difference in salary among peers (can be made up if you stay long) - Some HR policies are good for nothing - No Commute Facility by Company - Work from Home (need of the hour) is limited to 2 days in a month - No DA when on business trip
