Having worked at ALD for a couple of years now, I feel that the biggest positive of the company is the fact it's highly successful and fast growing company but still manages to maintain a real family feel. There are generally good development options if you're good at your job, management are flexible about working arrangements (part time working & hours/home vs. office/extended unpaid holidays), and work vs. life balance is considered very important also by the most senior management, which sets a nice tone for the entire team.
If I could wish for anything it would be the option of a paid sabbatical after a certain number of years' service.
Nice colleagues 2 days home office
Very stressful with many periodic reviews each month. Company systems are not working properly after migration
Great people and culture, good work-life balance.
Too much accent put on speed instead of consistency.
A great place to work. Managers are very supportive and everyone works as a collective to get the job done. My team members are professional and efficient, and they are certainly experts in their areas. Understanding, realistic management, high standards, really nice atmosphere. It's a pleasure to join ALD.
The processing time is too loooooong...
Good people to work with
Not really competitive salaries for the city
None though used to be good
Office being closed and roles moved to Bristol
Salary is higher than in other leasing companies for a just a little bit, and it is on time every month. Decent annual bonuses, company car depends of position, Good position of office. From time to time there is also team building.
Very slow career progress, conservative approach to business and employees, inability to work from home, no concern for employees, their growth within the company and outside it, no additional trainings. The principle of relations within the company is micromanagement.
- The people you work with day to day are great - No culture of forced overtime - If you can ignore the office politics, some interesting tech work to be found
- Very few opportunities for the people doing the work to help make the big decisions, which often means that decisions are made without understand the impact on people who will have to work on those outcomes - A very "Us and Them" attitude between management and workers - A lot of people higher up in the organisation have been with the company for a while and are reluctant to take advice on more modern ways to do things, which makes innovation difficult - You have to really fight to do things in an Agile way - No progression opportunities - Common for priorities to be miscommunicated, leading to various teams pulling in different directions, rather than working together
Great company to work for
No cons that I can think of
