Can’t think of any cons

hard to say really, I liked it there

Limited career growth, little to no training budget. As a public company, the outlook and planning is short-sighted. Not much in the way of investing in R&D, innovation, strategic partnerships, etc.

Paid less than most defence companies, and defence employees are paid less than the civil employees.

Growth is slow Minimum benefits No trips and parties by the manager

Some inconsistencies with policies. Departments do not always work well together. Employee relations can be a challenge due to the "good ole boy" culture.

Quite annoying to be forced to fire people all the time. Specially highly talented people.

Management is getting more and more disconnected. They don't want to hire, they don't understand the day-to-day concerns of the people at the bottom of the pyramid. Some promotions make no sense. The best people often leave for greener pastures. Every year we hear publicly how great the company is doing, but internally we're always broke. What gives?

Management doesn't always listen and it is hard to fit in.

Stressfull environment , many deadlines, always on the go

Parking sucks - no covered parking - you have to walk a half mile to get to the building. Micromanagement galore. Poor alignment with corporate and training centers. Lack of support when you speak up. Condescension is rampant among certain managers. Feverishly trying to find a way to another company soon.

You will find yourself working extra hours just to get the job done.

Occasionally the monotonous workload would lead to boredom

Interestingly enough; people don't seem to know who CAE is?

If I had had arrive late everyday, work drunk, slept all shift work, I might still working at the company. The worst group leader and team leader that I have ever had in my career. The staff were disqualified, almost all of them doesn’t have degree neither speak English. The manager likes people who don’t want to develop yours skills and career. There is a group of managers who decides who is able to work without require a good career development while working at CAE.

-Hungarian salaries are lower then other countries -old technology

Work starts to get repetitive after a while

Compensation is under average currently.

Management can be hit or miss which sucks because lots of shuffles happen.

Rigid compliance and approach, any alternative approaches or opinions are quickly shut down with bureaucracy speeches. Very few people have any experience outside of CAE, the wider world of work and different ways of doing things, especially management who are extremely are extremely resistant to change. If you’re ex-defence or a student with no prior work experience, you will not know any different and likely fit in reasonably well. CAEs has a heavily institutionalised culture in the way they do things, resistance, insecure and quashing of modern approaches and ways of work. If you are an industry or trade experience person looking to grow, this will feel like corporate boot camp from the 90’s, radical compliance, you basically must justify your cost each week and what value you are bringing under compliance reports and audits, especially if your part of internal services and support.

Short staffed a little bit.

Career growth and pay are only good for early-career (First 5-8 years). Experienced people mainly stick around for the pension plan because there are many other reasons to. Mid-long term prospects for this business don't look good because company lacks vision and excellence.

smaller divisions don't seem to get the resources they need.

I personally have nothing worth complaining about. Nothing is ever perfect

Change is one of the key word here so the working pace is fast.

Life - work balance is terrible. Career opportunity is almost nothing.

Large amount of legacy code, mostly outdated technology

Constantly changing "rules" and little control over your schedule
