Because Citi is such a large company, there are many opportunities for advancement and the benefits are excellent. It's not uncommon to find employees who have been with Citi for decades. The tuition assistance program is excellent.
Some managers of people should not be managers of people. They haven't mastered the subtle art of influence and instead rely on intimidation and micromanagement. And while there are many opportunities to advance, movement within the company is becoming more challenging.
