HR is non-existent. Whether onboarding or off boarding, things are mostly self service and you need to raise tickets for everything. As with every place, some bosses are absolute nightmares. Beware. Do proper research and due diligence, try to search on LinkedIn and don’t be afraid to reach out for insights before you join. Some teams are busy working on vanity projects for their bosses (MDs) who are afraid of losing their jobs. MDs will shamelessly take all credit for a job well done and tear you apart if it’s only mediocre. If you do not meet with working level colleagues in your interview and only with direct reports of the MD, don’t be too happy that it’s one less round of interview, be worried that the opinion of the working level is irrelevant. More often than not, the working level has nothing good to say and the direct report is forced to only say good things. Be careful of certain nationality who are known to be very good at talking. Take their words with a barrel full of salt.
