- Sometimes innovation isn't as fast I as I would have hoped. Technology takes time to approve as there is an abundance of caution when approving new software.

No extra facilities can or over times

-Be aware for most projects you might be working 50-60 hours on average -There are some terrible projects where you would have to work 16 hours a day including weekends. This is all dependent on teams your on though so some might be better than that -Firm initiative, while cool, does take up your time and it affects your total compensation (in terms of bonus)

Think: Leadership acting in the interest of the path of least resistance instead of addressing actual issues that require them to do their jobs. Offshoring jobs and "quiet" layoffs over the past several years just to name a few. Think: Managers who nominate you for an employee award one month and tell you you're not "meeting expectations" the next and fire you a few days after your 40th birthday. They target you and invade your privacy in order to ensure you can't prove their illegal and dehumanizing treatment.

With the industry facing significant disruption (e.g. AI, geopolitical), the ripple effect is also felt in consulting. I wouldn't say it's a con, but most reasons people leave include a change in benefit structure due to cost-cutting and an increase in capability expectations resulting from a shift in market demand. The consulting demand is still the same; it's just now different.

Lack of organization in processes, all anybody cares about is to get things done but nobody cares about doing it well. Responsibilities are never explicitly set, expect to have to juggle multiple work streams at once and constantly get pulled into other projects, initiatives, no respect of your time or bandwidth

Mandate return-to-office and draconian HR policy roll-out processes; the SEA partners inculcated with a belief that plenty of people desperate to work for Deloitte (despite it being reputable as being a workhorse) and so they don't really care about the current employees.

- no mentorship cuz everyones busy - very underpaid, did not know that pay is possible lol - managers constantly pressuring to work overtime while theres no OT pay

Too many managers will gaslight you and just be terrible in general. They'll be easy to spot in the tech world

Pay relative to some competitors. Difficult culture when the firm is going through a fall in unit values
