Management is horrible. Very micromanaged.

Very High turnover in salaried ranks - It seemed half of my salaried colleagues were constantly new. Memphis management works through negative motivation and perpetual threat of termination, No skills-based training in anything for anyone - if you do not hit the ground running you will be walked out of the door, The plant is currently in its 5th year of operations - they have had at least 3 GM's, 3 Directors of HR - 4 HR managers, multiple operations directors, managers & untold numbers of operations supervisors. Mistakes and disagreement are simply not allowed.

Not a great place for growth, middle management didn’t really seem to care about employees under them

Along with having to upsell on products that don't live up to the pedigree that they have, you have to deal with instances where you'll encounter the same breakdowns of the same exact models that occur every 3 months on appliances that should be good for at least 3 years before breaking down. And even reporting the same defects and malfunctions to supervisors to send to the factories, they just shrug it off like "oh it must have been a bad batch of appliances/parts". I'm sure that it should hold some kind of weight that needs rectifying, if you ask me. The shift that they slide you in is pretty brutal, with very slim chance or a long drawn out process in order to change it, as they only approve schedule changes twice a month. Sucks if something sudden happens in your schedule and you can't change your schedule by explaining your situation! The few managers that do try to assist you when you're struggling with certain issues are trying, I'll applaud them for that. But the others only want to push sales to the point where you're sacrificing one of the companies Core Values by ignoring customer complaints and displeasures in order to make sure you're pushing that sale. They will dock your Quality Assurance score if you don't go through every since cue to a T, even if the other person on the line is crying their eyes out because their dishwasher flooded their kitchen or their FRIDGE caught fire or angry that their ice maker went out for the 4th time in a span of 5 months (I've been told by SEVERAL managers that the company's ice makers are cheap and badly made. WHY KEEP MAKING THEM? WHY TELL YOUR EMPLOYEES THIS?!) Selling products are not difficult. Its when you're trying to push selling products to already frustrated people who are upset because something that they depend on is broken down AGAIN it becomes a problem. The company makes bookoo money already; it needs to step back and put that money into making better quality products to help both the customers and the employees.

The daily routine can be stressfull and time to be creative is short.

Environment, suppliers strategies, old management style

Salary is not competitive compared with market. Not much career opportunity as the job scope is narrow.

It gets pretty cold in the winter and you have to be very careful who accept as a friend there. It's best to keep a low profile

The Marketing organization in North America is very weak. Leadership in this area has been lacking for a long time and recent structure changes will not improve on this. High level strategies for the company in NA make it clear that marketing is not a focus area currently. If you are building a career in Marketing, this may not be the company for you.

Easy to be stuck in an old school mindset.

Multiple Stakeholders Organisation changes are not planned and communicated well

Silos Everyone is out for themselves and will readily stab you in the back of it will help them get ahead. They try to keep secrets, but it eventually gets out and everyone finds out what’s going on. Each department has their own targets that don’t line up with other groups. Then blame each other when things don’t get done. Plagiarism runs rampant and people take credit for the work of others to get ahead. People don’t get interviewed for jobs they are qualified for. Positions are “filled” before they are ever posted with a disclaimer “Strong Candidate Identified” to deter people from applying to jobs. Work life balance is nonexistent. Don’t believe any of the BS that gets published. All of the plant leaders including the ones in Charlotte falsify the actual results to make things look better.

Salaries for internal movement are well below market value Infrequent opportunity to move into management Old school attitude and outlook held by local senior management There is a perception that the culture is great, but the reality isn't quite that positive

People sometimes can be boring

A bit of lacking direction and guidance

Culture, claimed that they were overpaying me for a year and ask for me to pay back the total amount without checking with HR / Legal / Labor laws. It was a very bad look.
