Great people Low HR overhead — the best people rise up quickly Work for a company with a mission
Pay is below what you’ll get at top tier companies Culture of "innovation by acquisition"
I am just over a month into my new role at Motorola Solutions, and I am incredibly happy with my decision to join the company. From the very first day, I received a genuinely warm welcome from everyone I've interacted with. There's a strong, supportive culture that you feel immediately. What really impressed me was the onboarding process. It was remarkably smooth, clear, and well-organized. I never felt lost or overwhelmed. The company has clearly invested in making it easy for new hires to get settled. All the information, applications, and tools needed to make your work easier are readily available and accessible. It's refreshing to join a company that sets you up for success from day one. I'm excited to be part of the team and look forward to my future here.
None at the moment since I only three weeks on board.
Senior manager, product management
Culture: Every employee I've come across in almost 20 years at this company is laser focused on our mission, saving lives and keeping the public and first responders safe. Because of this, the workplace is built around a culture of innovation, ethics, professionalism, and volunteerism in our communities. On Benefits: Offers performance bonuses and restricted stock to eligible employees. Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Health insurance is good but could be better and was in the past. 401k Matching On career mobility/growth -> I've seen many employees over the years try on many hats so Motorola Solutions offers opportunities for switching from one discipline to another which creates many well-rounded experts who understand many aspects of the business. In many cases, these employees have carved the path themselves through networking. Motorola Solutions offers many opportunities to join business councils like: Young Professionals Group, Women's Business Council, Veterans Business Council, etc. Greg Brown, CEO, has done a tremendous job reinventing the company in his tenure since 2008.
Salary is not as competitive as the market based on research - may be about 10-20% below market in some instances but does offer some other benefits not offered by some companies (see pros). Recent reduction of focus and investment on DEI initiatives.
Program manager
Flexible working hours, can apply for mobility (wfh setting), good management, stable company, good benefits
Have to work outside of normal working hours (international time difference), salary is a bit low compared to other mnc, hard to get promoted, career development can be limited after a number of years
9-5 job with good work life balance
Below average increments in salary compensation.
Anonymous employee
Everyone is very human. The company is mid-size - it's easy to connect with other colleagues and find the people you need to work with across the company and across geographies. Work/life balance is decent.
Career opportunities are limited, with a very dominant core business.
