Main pros are the exit opportunities and consistent and clear promo schedule (assuming the firm is doing well - people stopped getting promoted when business slowed down). Flexibility with WFH + travel. Exposure to huge household name clients which is good for resume.
Management sees associates as disposable. We lost 75% of our associates to quitting during my short <2 year tenure. Management encourages competition between associates (was directly told that I should be competing with other associates). One of the senior managers I worked with had some serious anger issues and took it out on associates - he apologized for this once but still pretty uncomfortable otherwise. Managers assume you know everything and some get frustrated when you say you don't know how to do something even though you've never been trained on it before. You also get paid less than your peers who went straight to doing finance at tech companies. You also get less benefits and perks. Although the exit ops are generally good (multiple recruiters were reaching out to me and that's how I got my new job), you can get pigeon-holed into valuations / accounting type jobs if you stay too long. Sometimes you work crazy long hours (18 hour days) and sometimes it feels like the work is meaningless. Sometimes the opposite happens and there is no work to do and you only have 2 hours of work per day -> this leads to your utilization score going below the threshold which is bad for your bonus / promotions. Sometimes budgets are super tight on projects and you get in trouble for actually billing all the hours you work. Tons of monotonous boring admin work. Associate role will likely be automated by AI and become obsolete. Huge push to use 'acceleration centers' (India and Argentina employees) more and more to cut costs. There's a bunch of other issues I can list but you get the idea. Moving to a new job has shown me what it's like to work somewhere where management actually cares about younger employees.
Relatively clear growing path, decent benefit
Very bad work life balance (may vary by team), you are expected to work over 100 hours per week during busy season and constantly work beyond the hours even during non-busy season Toxic working culture, management expects you to sacrifice as much as you can for the team while refusing to give credit for your work
space for growth is encouraged
progression or promotion delays for QA
Hard work but good industry experience and connections
Can get paid more elsewhere
Growth opportunities and friendly environment
Not international and few benefits
- Nice and supportive colleagues - Great environment for professional development
- Long working hours with limited OT
Great learning opportunities and worked with very intelligent coworkers
Long hours but as expected
No pros about this company
Worst employers and worst salaries
Great network and title Events
Although company cares so much about ethics, they pay too little salary for extraordinary working hours no work-life balance
