Pay is not the best as compared to thers in Technology sector, or even as compared to broader storage industry. Growth opportunities are limited. Once you've worked at Seagate or WD, where can you go next? There is quite a bit of politics between the old Seagate guard and the people they got from WD in 2016-2018 timeframe. One major issue for me was that they lost all employee information to a phishing attack and did nothing much to address it. It shows weak controls and apathy for employees' data. That attitude is a problem. Diversity - At the management level, Seagate is still a white male dominated company with minimal diversity. It doesn't impact day-to-day operations, but limits some growth opportunities if you're not in the club.

The benefits are not that great.

Growth trajectory unstable, remaining employed is risky and morale due to 3 RIFs over 6.5 months.

If you’ve been with them a long time & are in the core business (spinning media) -life is great. If you’re not, time is short.

Not much bad stuff but could do with more leave.

Rotating HDDs are a contracting product market

In recent years the volatility in performance has seen many lose trust in the management.

Too much work, no work life balance

No career growth, no bonus, no salary hike for the last 3 years. Not a good place for one looking for career advancement

Difficult environment and not a particularly nice culture to work within which is a shame.

Leadership is very secretive, retaliatory and untrustworthy. Senior manager is a bully that treats everyone like children unless they are one of their favorites. Harassment is tolerated and laughed at. There are constant whispers of something negative happening just over the horizon.

I have not noticed any cons in my duration.

Your experience depends entirely on your manager. A good supervisor makes the job great, but a bad one makes the environment toxic. This leads to many people quitting suddenly。

some demographic issues as age differences can be hard for younger crowd
