Constantly changing management objectives within the company

Executives micro managed to an extreme level. Would also have to write emails that the execs would in turn send to customers. Also ZERO work life balance.

I would still work here if I hadn't been laid off.

no chances to grow here as they hire you as a technical and ask you to work on excel. lack of opportunity. This will not work in long run for employee.

After you do all the works, they are expected you to handle everything, since you already so good on that, with no motivate factor.

-Extremely slow promotion cycle -Work is uninspiring for PhD applicants -Layoffs create job insecurity and changes to job responsibilities -False promises of bonuses returning, promotions, and team expansions for years. -PhDs will soon find themselves severely underpaid if it is their first job.

They lay off new employees even if you are still in training.

There is not a con I can think of.

The promotion is not great and it happens in a big firm like Seagate.

A lack of mentorship guidance

1. Looks like company only focuses on WFH thing. They dont care about the quality work. 2. Worst Managers ever. Not even a single manager who can defend their team or support their employee even though they are right. 3. No recognition no rewards. There is no recognition/reward for good work. 4, Layoffs are very frequent 5. Work culture and policies are not good 6. No transport facility and company expects to come to office daily. No matter if you have any family problem or you stay too far from office.

Mid and above level management. No training was provided and it showed. Incompetency and greed is cemented in the company structure. Harsh layoffs. Frequent and souless. Staggered deliveries successfully kept Seagate off the national news headlines but constantly loom behind the better knowing minds of the employees. No clear direction. Some company initiatives were akin to asking lead engineers to throw darts at a word cloud for ideas. (This may be irrelevant following the layoffs if they consolidate and stick to what they were good at.)

Pay could be a bit better.
