Focus on automation and Ai software development

Large company, can be slow to react issues

Not so good company and individual benefits

The saying "Employees leave their manager but not the organisation" is not applicable here. I was in Seagate for my manager and left for HR policies and company culture. It's not an employee centric organisation, below are few points to support the statement. In future, it will have hard time to attract good talents. - No work from home kit provided during COVID - Hesitation to send laptop during COVID if it gets faulty - Sick Leave: Need to attach medical certificate even for a single day of leave (Never seen this in any organisation) - Causal Leave: This can not fall in between public holiday and annual leave. (Seriously! This is the trust?) - Sudden increase of notice period to 90 days for existing employees without any acknowledgement. - Less pay more work - Slow and cheap laptop/hardware where other product companies give choice - Not enough awards and recognition to keep employees motivated - Status call on late evenings

Most lower level managers are less than adequate.

Working in a very high pressure environment

- no stable management -they keep doing lots of changes in teams - they reshuffle the teams all the time - layed off most employees of software division in the name of cost cutting

Work vice balance, not much pressure from manager

Monotonous work for the employee

not enough pay; could do better

Nights are long, sleeping can take a hit.

Management.... literally everything about them.

Low pay, terrible management, crappy hours

Not as such may be they can have multiple office across India.

Promotion very slow. Salary varies too much from person to person.

Too many redundancies management post created. Bubble gonna burst one day.

Salary Adjustment is not quite outstanding

1. Less compensation than market 2. No RSU or offer less RSU which is not even matching with competitors offering for same level of experience 3. Offer free transport in offer letter but not giving in reality. I have seen the people taking public transport like bus, local train and auto to come to office from 30km daily 4. No spot award 5. No team outing 6. One gift they give in year that is just 1000rs Amazon voucher in Diwali.

No HR support on site for employees, meaning self- service. Alot of senior upper managerial in people related roles who are focusing on their own territory inwardly. Very disjointed and alot of time spent on power play. Political.

Salaries are below market average and the company is not proactive regarding employee compensation packages.

Difficult job content if u are new

Lower pay than average pay for the role, Slow promotions if at all,

TH working culture is not good enough to be international company.

1. Attrition cascade due to poor HR decisions (increasingly uncompetitive pay). Senior employees leave, but we replace them with new college grads. Senior staff that remain shoulder the burden of their own work + the work of those who left + training new hires. 2. Covid response: 2.1. Vaccine/reporting mandate, even for remote workers (this is unscientific, now that vaccines are shown to not contribute to herd immunity). 2.2. Vacillating between requiring on-site or off-site work. 2.3. Closed the gym for two years (and counting). 2.4. One-way stickers, social distancing posters, health declarations, temperature scanners, and a dozen other impotent measures. 2.5. Frequent emails regarding colleagues getting covid. 1/3 of Americans got covid in 2020. I really don't want to hear about it every time one of my colleagues gets the sniffles. 3. Waterfall project management, as opposed to agile project management.

Slow progression as there are many levels to climb

It is a large company, your experience will vary depending on which manager you work for

Everyone at work is great and there is a good community of people (particularly young people) at work but it’s very difficult to integrate into non-Seagate life Slow to change R&D director is not a fan of remote working HR pull rank and are not accommodating Extremely difficult to negotiate change to working hours / patterns / move to part time etc. Can be an “us and them” between r&d and other departments as we’re seen to be causing trouble and break things. We need to do things different to the production line to learn and make the next gen of products but it isn’t always the same view of other departments. Male dominated environment, often you can be the only female in a meeting so you have to take a more masculine approach to be heard Projects are huge and full of obstacles Projects always run late No obvious formal project management style(s)

Be to ready to do night shift

Boring place to work, no progression, no talent retention. Stay for a dead-end career or if you wish to retire.

Bad IT Leadership and management

The remote work policy is insane! Many long-term loyal employees' salaries have been adjusted. Unfortunately, the salary adjustments are not viable to survive in the current economic environment -still dealing with covid, a recession, and soaring costs - fuel, groceries, etc. CRUEL! Toxic environment high turnover, lack of transparency, inflexible communication, no space or process for feedback or reflection, unclear work responsibilities or boundaries.

No new product and not much development to work on, need more new tech and development

Not for young people since no innovation for the technology

Best System construction but a few people make it worst

Wish to pursue interests using my skills, background and experience to support and grow American industry

HR is almost non-existent for employees.

Starting off it was really bad during the first days several years back. The seniors do not want to teach because they felt it was not their job and they just go on leave leaving you to fend for yourselves. Fortunately, somebody implemented some system to make our lives easier and they make us rotate our duties so the seniors also get to do other work. The new staff came and learned quickly in turn we teach each other and end up we teach each other which is great. It is a highly social place which will be great if you like to talk but talk and learn at the same time because nobody would care about you if you still do not know your stuff. It is quite a proactive job where you learn by asking so do not be afraid to ask. Socializing is very important, don't keep to yourself or be too high profile and doesn't do work.

A lot of things to do as my current position and tasks don't align with the salary

Nothing to worry about. It is truly an excellent place to work

Room for career growth is limited.
