Great place for networking and exposure to media industry. Best place for fresh graduate and employees in their 20's to jump start their career.
Not suitable for long term career growth in this age due to threats of traditional marketing. Most employees especially the operational side are demotivated.
I've been in the company for 5 years. One sided view of moving government propaganda to public. A little bit better now as they went through bad times when public boycotted them but in the end it's still a company owned by MCA which reports back to Barisan Nasional. Lotsa flexibility as people here don't really take work seriously. Screw up things and it's fine as they will repeat the same problem over and over again proven with track record.
As long you have the correct strings attached you can sail far even if you're just an empty vessel. It's fine as long you talk the talk the bosses wants to hear and never go against it even if it's wrong. With time on your side, you'd slowly move up.
None. Not As what it seems
unsupportive culture and toxic HR
They are open to ideas and there is very little to no bureaucracy
Always be on your toes
- The CEO is transparent about the current status of transformation & additional newly created revenue-generating products. - More effort was made on staff promotion and relevant salary increment/adjustments. - Trying to elevate & stay afloat within a sunset business industry and diversified. - Relevant industry exposure which equips you with the knowledge & experience of a mid-sized local long-standing local company culture - Encourages more cross-department function & collaboration to give a more inclusive communication to improve efficiency & productivity
- Certain smaller departments/teams will feel negleted/not prioritised because the return/revenue/impact that the particular team can generate/bring to the company is not as significant as the others. - There are a certain group of long-serving employees that has more significant influence across the management & board hence were more "taken care" of and given certain leeway. - Certain roles that are advertised for hire are replacement roles that have many short serviced predecessors because the particular team's structure & formation are challenging for the new joiners (especially more senior roles) to fit in & adapt accordingly. - Company currently does not focus on L&D or relevant culture-related training hence do not expect that if you are deciding to join. - You need to really know & stay focused on the reason/what you want to achieve if you decided to accept the relevant job offer or else you might be lost yourself along the way
Good working environment. Lovely colleagues. Working as a family.
Salary lower than expected in media
Good salary - although I expect this to be attacked soon
Too often they were prepared to "bet the farm" on ideas with minimal research and due diligence They through projects around as a means of masking poor performance issues. The leadership of the press centre was abysmal.
As a journalist, you will have many money can't buy experiences
Advertising revenue trumps stories for the people.
Stable and one of the best media companies in Malaysia
Low pay and not a good outlook for the future due to dying industry
