- Good compensation package compared to other unis - Good and reputable education brand
Cons
- Political AF. Gaslighting and blaming? Cliques? a norm - Little work-life boundaries, you're expected to complete work regardless of deadlines. pick up a phone call without any notice (disturbs your workflow). also get calls on my off days, if you don't pick up, it becomes a performance issue... 'not responsive' - Not transparent, wont disclose the big picture but keeps you working by following instructions, or they will let you drown with mixed instructions - Pointless and endless (a whole-day) meetings (suspecting the leader is lonely and doesn't have friends to talk to so they force everyone to sit in the team meeting for an entire day) - Unclear expectations of work ('be yourself' and at the same time 'be professional'. so which is it? what does that even mean?) ('be creative and explore' = do it properly the first time with little time for research?) - Questionable sources and references for education content, one of the courses had only 1 reference for the entire course, and is the 'for dummies' book, like cmon. is this really the standard? you end up picking up the slack to find other relevant and similar resources that come from actual textbooks and things so that you make the uni look good - Some colleagues flirt with you because they think it is ok (it is not) - Exit interview HR won't listen, they hear you and nod, but they don't listen. it's pointless. they make excuses and assumptions even when you have been clear with real examples
