The Chinese Banquet 1st Wok is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of cooks and kitchen workers. This role involves determining food presentation and creating decorative food displays, ensuring proper portion sizes and garnishes, monitoring food quantities, and communicating menu specials or out-of-stock items to the Food & Beverage staff. The 1st Wok assists kitchen staff with various tasks, monitors kitchen supplies, maintains food safety logs, and ensures food quality standards are met. Supervisory duties include hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, disciplining, and motivating employees. The position requires adherence to company safety and security policies, maintaining professional appearance, protecting company assets, and delivering excellent guest service.
Education at a technical, trade, or vocational school level is preferred.
4 to 6 years of related work experience are preferred.
At least 2 years of supervisory experience is preferred.
Ability to follow all company safety and security policies and procedures.
Capability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
Physical ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
Strong communication skills to speak clearly and professionally.
Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships and support team goals.
Willingness to perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
