The Director of Rooms at Sheraton Kota Kinabalu functions as the strategic business leader of the property's Rooms department. This role is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating the quality of the property's rooms. The position works closely with direct reports to develop and implement departmental strategies, ensuring they align with the brand's service strategy and initiatives. The Director ensures operations meet brand standards, satisfy customer needs, support employee satisfaction, drive revenue growth, and maximize financial performance of the department.
A 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major with 4 years of experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, sales and marketing, management operations, or a related professional area, OR a 4-year bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major with 2 years of experience in the same areas.
Ability to lead and communicate departmental goals effectively.
Experience in managing profitability and operational strategy aligned with brand business strategy.
Capability to monitor and coach Rooms operations sales performance against budget.
Strong customer service focus and ability to handle guest feedback and complaints effectively.
Skilled in managing and conducting human resources activities including hiring, communication, staff development, and performance management.
Commitment to fostering an environment that values diversity and inclusion.
Ability to implement brand and regional business initiatives and communicate necessary follow-up actions.
