
The Inpatient Medical DRG Coder – Hospital (Remote) is responsible for assigning Diagnosis-Related Group (DRG) codes for inpatient hospital stays. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate coding and compliance with healthcare regulations, impacting hospital billing and patient care quality.
In this role, you will review clinical documentation and communicate with physicians to clarify diagnoses and procedures. You will utilize electronic encoder applications to assign accurate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes while working in a fully remote environment.
Key Responsibilities:
2-5 years of experience in hospital-based inpatient (DRG) coding.
Current coding credential such as CCS (AHIMA), CPC, CPC-H, or CIC (AAPC).
Experience with Level 1 Trauma Coding and academic/university-level hospital cases.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and payer regulations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
