The Interior Designer role involves collaborating with teams to develop and enhance interior products through sketches, 3D models, and CAD documentation. The position requires managing project aspects such as prototype creation, testing, and resource allocation while working closely with various stakeholders.
The Interior Designer collaborates with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and develop new interior products or enhance existing ones, using sketches, 3D models, and renderings to visualize design concepts. This role involves preparing detailed technical drawings, specifications, and documentation using CAD software, conducting material research, overseeing prototype creation and testing, and managing project timelines, budgets, and resources to meet design objectives and market demands. The designer must also be comfortable handling ad hoc tasks and is responsible for both 2D and 3D work, including mood boards, material proposals, space planning, color coordination, full set construction drawings, and more.
Bachelor's degree or master's degree in Interior Design or related field is essential to understand the principles of building design and construction.
2-3 years of experience in architectural design, interior design, or designing interior products, such as furniture, fixtures and equipment, is highly desirable.
Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential for working with architects, engineers, manufacturers, and other stakeholders to bring the products to market.
Collaborative and is open to ideas/inputs from other team members.
Understanding different materials, their properties, and suitability for specific interior applications is crucial in product design.
Ability to create physical prototypes and conduct testing to validate the functionality and performance of the interior products.
Knowledge of sustainable design practices and the ability to incorporate eco-friendly elements into interior products.
In-depth knowledge of Residential Interior Design, Autocad, 3D Max or SketchUp, Photoshop, V-Ray, Adobe Illustrator.
Adequate knowledge of building trades such as electrical, carpentry, plumbing and general constructions.
Creative talent, imagination, and eye for design. Flare in Interior Design especially retail and commercial projects.
Open to accepting rejection and focus on client's need.
