Role Summary

The Labor and Employment Counsel Manager is responsible for providing strategic and pragmatic legal advice on employment matters. This role impacts internal stakeholders by ensuring compliance and managing legal risks across the Southeast Asia region.

Job Description

In this role, you will engage with HR and leadership to address employment-related legal issues while overseeing litigation and supporting transactional matters. You will also develop internal guidelines and manage relationships with external counsel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic legal advice on employment matters.
  • Oversee litigation related to labor and employment issues.
  • Support transactional matters including outsourcing and M&A.
  • Manage industrial relations and collective bargaining processes.
  • Develop internal guidelines to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain relationships with external legal counsel.
  • Stay updated on legal developments in the Southeast Asia region.

Job Requirements

Qualified lawyer with post-qualification experience in Employment Law.

Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).

Experience in private practice or in-house legal environments.

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

Strong project management and time management skills.
