The Principal Legal Analyst - Energy Terms and Risk Asia works within the E&P Terms and Above-Ground Risk team, providing expert analysis on legal, commercial, and economic issues affecting the upstream oil and gas sector in Asia. This role supports companies, governments, and financial investors by researching and assessing contractual, regulatory, and fiscal developments and collaborating across teams to understand the impact of energy transition regulations in the region.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in law is essential.
Further studies on energy policy, regulation, taxation, or related areas are desirable.
Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in the upstream sector in Asia.
Experience producing high-quality research and analyzing laws and contracts from multiple jurisdictions.
Strong critical thinking skills and ability to integrate qualitative and quantitative information.
Excellent writing and presentation skills in English.
Effective time management and detail-oriented approach.
Experience using AI tools in a research environment is beneficial.
Proficiency with MS Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with energy transition trends is preferred.
Flexibility to work collaboratively with colleagues of different experience levels and locations globally.
