Role Summary
The Senior Manager, Legal - Compliance is responsible for ensuring compliance with Malaysian laws and regulations for the REIT. This role involves significant interaction with legal matters, regulatory reporting, and corporate governance initiatives.
Job Description
In this role, you will engage in day-to-day legal compliance activities, liaising with various stakeholders including the Trustee and the Securities Commission. You will be part of a dynamic team focused on maintaining high standards of corporate governance and legal integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian laws and regulations for the REIT.
- Liaise with the Trustee on legal matters and regulatory reporting.
- Advise on contractual issues and draft legal documents.
- Support corporate governance initiatives and compliance in periodic reports.
- Engage with the Securities Commission on compliance matters.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to inform decision-making.
- Manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Law or equivalent professional qualification.
Certified Compliance Officer (mandatory).
Proven experience in compliance, preferably in the financial or real estate sector.
Strong knowledge of relevant Malaysian laws and regulations.
Familiarity with the Malaysian Code on Corporate Governance.
Excellent analytical and communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
