Job Description
As a Senior Data Modeler at Cognizant, you will engage in day-to-day activities that include analyzing data requirements, developing and optimizing data models, and automating data definition language (DDL) processes. You will work closely with analytical data models and contribute to the overall data strategy of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze data requirements to develop effective data models.
- Optimize SQL queries for improved performance.
- Automate data definition language (DDL) processes to enhance efficiency.
- Review and provide feedback on data models developed by team members.
- Update and maintain metadata in the data catalog.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity.
- Utilize data modeling tools, particularly Erwin, for model development.
Job Requirements
Minimum 4 years of experience in data modeling (logical and/or physical) with a focus on Star Schemas.
Proficient in data modeling tools using Erwin.
Expert level experience in data analysis.
Experience in SQL optimization.
Hands-on experience in Google Cloud, especially BigQuery.
Experience with Github and CI/CD.
Experience with Informatica EDC is desirable.
