Job Description
The Team Lead for Record to Report (R2R) is responsible for overseeing the delivery of end-to-end R2R processes within an offshore accounting support service centre. This role ensures accurate and timely completion of general ledger activities, month-end and year-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, and financial reporting while guiding and developing a high-performing R2R team, maintaining strong financial controls, and driving process efficiency and service excellence.
Job Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
3–5 years of relevant experience in Record to Report (R2R), including general ledger accounting, month-end and year-end close, balance sheet reconciliation, fixed assets, and financial reporting.
At least 1–2 years in a supervisory, senior accountant, or team lead role, preferably within a shared services, BPO, or multinational environment.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, reporting standards, and compliance requirements (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
Hands-on experience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar platforms, including familiarity with automation tools or workflow systems.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong capability in analysing financial data and producing reports.
High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills, particularly in identifying discrepancies, root causes, and process improvement opportunities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders, auditors, and cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated leadership ability, including guiding team members, reviewing work quality, and ensuring adherence to deadlines and service levels.
Proactive, adaptable, and able to perform under pressure during peak reporting cycles.
