Supervisor
Mar 19, 2026Pros
Some of the people who worked there were okay
Cons
They expect so much from you as a supervisor. It was my job to open and close the shop everyday, be in charge of all the staff, all the money, and test electricals.

Discount is 15%, and 2 week returns on any items. Some staff are nice.
Some staff and members of management are awful people and slackers. Customer base are very often abusive, especially post-pandemic, more likely to get assaulted there than at a pub. Expect a cliquey environment, two-faced personalities, not very much respect or loyalty, staff are very much disposable. You will have to learn most things yourself as guidance is minimal. Sexist and misogynistic attitudes from staff and customers. Almost no chance of getting given more hours if you're contracted, also minimum wage for a job that requires a lot of mental strength and intelligence. Management only get about 20p more too. You are better off working anywhere else. Or vet the place heavily first, for instance, never work for a franchise store, corporate stores seem to run a lot more smoothly.
The staff are very laid back and where always helpful when first starting out Dress code is very casual Customers are generally a pleasure to deal with Great working environment
Not much chance of progression Not the best training, more learning on the job than anything.
Cool staff, lots of drinking.
Terrible work environment, never have the supplies to do the job, the UK bosses show up, don't do any work and dont seem to help the US higher ups at all, police raid the stores, they told us month after month for a year we'd get health insurance but never did, no benefits at all, etc.
