Overworked, abused my management, not appreciated or respected. Nothing more than a “cheek in the seat” -direct quote from manager.

No cons. Company was recently acquired, 2016, bringing in new technologies.

Heavy work load No clear communication from management. Often feel that employees are being left in the dark. Negative vibe around the office. Lots of turnover lately. Not much autonomy.

- Low remuneration with minimal increase, if any - Expectation to work long hours and unrealistic workloads - Minimal to no support from management to complete work - Sales team and management will constantly undermine you, throw you under the bus to brokers and other management staff with the expectation to take it like a champ - Refusal from upper management to listen to the needs of employees and act on their promises - Incredibly high turnover with some teams turning over 100% of staff within 1-2 years (speaks for itself) - Ancient and unworkable systems - No support from management under tough circumstances from brokers and no peer support in terms of workload - Promotions awarded to friends of managers, not those who are deserving - Don't expect your manager to fight for you or support you when mistreated

Short staffed on some projects adding to the work load and at times hurting the project output

No communication from management on various things in the office. Demanding expectations and at times unrealistic given claims volume

Make sure you dont get stuck in a department where there's no growth or horrible management

Growth opportunities. Bonus structure, technology

public transportation is very difficult

Little to no flexibility on remote working even pre-pandemic. The philosophy is “We are a work-from-office company.” Very intense production demand. Very little work/life balance. Even the best underwriters work late into the evenings.

Very low pay compared to industry average. If you are not your managers favorite, just forget it because you wont get anywhere. Over worked. You do the job of two people.

Last years at Chubb we operated on a flat budget which translated into not having the best tools for the job

I feel compelled to warn job seekers with a work ethic and an aspiration to advance within the company before they make a ruinous employment decision. To be sure, the sentiments expressed here are not solely my own; I am giving voice to the many employed by this company who have conveyed shared perceptions and experiences. While I often hope I have but temporarily drifted into a fictional realm to analyze a case of corporate dysfunction at its worst, it was unfortunately my daily reality. A few members of the management team are soulless and have absolutely no regard for employees. In this company, it doesn’t matter how you achieve results; it only matters that results are achieved. Amidst the exodus of great talent, the work just gets handed down to those who are left. The expectations of any new hires is little to none as they constantly whine, complain, or play dumb to get out of work.
