Work and culture is around (poorly designed) processes. No career plan. You get ahead, if you do not raise your concerns. Salary increase is far bellow inflation. Local management is week, They are incentivised to keep the status quo.

Too much politics, and the process takes forever.

Limited opportunities for growth Managers are not knowledgeable or expert on their roles, they can only speak well to upper management

In the last three years working with Citi I haven't experienced any Con.

Management are too far removed from the BAU and are out of touch

Career progression is slow Ridiculous recruitment process (Have to interview X people for a job that's an internal appointment)

Poor support for work-life balance. While management makes an effort to reduce workload, this does not come to fruition, and burdensome/complicated policies/processes change often which adds stress. Given this, rendering overtime is the norm even without additional compensation for this. Work culture can also get competitive and deadlines, assignments, and commitments are very strict. If you are not a fast-paced worker then you will likely be frowned upon. There is mentorship but not as strong as I expected. Trainings are helpful but it does not really get you far ahead in your role as most of it will be learned through experience. To add, managers are often busy (in meetings) so you are expected to work (and figure things out) independently most of the time, which is suitbale for people who prefer to be individual contributors.
