On boarding process at the start is very long and unnecessary. It took 3 months from job offer to start date Training is all completed with a fellow coworker who simply does not have the time or resource to complete this properly Your day to day work will be very heavy in terms of workload. At one point, I was covering 3 people's roles due to sickness. They will still expect the quality of work to be high and additional tasks/goals to be completed but it is simply not doable. The fact I was doing 3 people's roles (these were assigned to me) did not seem to be taken into account when doing any appraisals Those who seem to be getting promotions are those who are on overly friendly terms with their manager or belong to a certain "clique". It doesn't seem to be based on actual work merit and decisions by managers don't seem to be challenged by higher management when they should be Support while in your role will be minimal. I received around 3 one to one in the space of almost a year. No guidance on how to forward your career etc for those who are not friendly or in the management "clique". Those who seem to moan and stress on the job, seem to get further than those who put their heads down Incredibly long hours at times, you will not be paid for any additional hours The salary for the amount of work expected in this role is simply not up to market standard these days. Entry level in other banks seem to pay more than intermediate/senior levels at Citi As an experienced employee, you will soon become disillusioned when others are hired on higher levels than you, yet have no experience of finance, you end up training them and they still cannot perform adequately. You will wonder why you are picking up slack for considerably less money. Look after your existing staff before new hires
