large corporate - not fun enviroment

Too many re-orgs, hiring from external instead of internal existing workforce for promotional opportunities, hiring people to lead teams that are not better, smarter, more experienced or stronger than existing team members that were overlooked for promotions. Career growth is difficult, unless you're drinking the cool-aid kissing up. But, those are the ones who are usually not knowledgeable to lead in the first place. That part makes most employees very disgruntled.

The Salary hikes could have been better. Over my 4 years of journey I have seen very low or marginal level of hikes which basically is not expected from a big product banking company There is too much politics when it comes to salary increment or promotion as you may see other people getting promoted who does not do much of work and other employees like you are left behind who are putting more than 100% There is always 1 or 2 weekends where you have to be availabe or work which does not return back you with any comp offs for your weekend work or extra time work Once tagged in the Application same sort of work is carried every day and nobody discuss about improving or adding something new to the existing process. I somehow felt that everyone is just trying to survive there without putting much of their brains and efforts into it.

In CITI Gurgaon there is hell lot off politics with Txic environment. At AVP Level also you will be asked to do daily Production along with team members. All the powers and decision making rights are with Vice President. AVPs are treated as their puppets Your future growths is dependent on how good relationship do you have with your line manager

Salary tends to be lower than industry average and promotions take quite some time
