Senior cybersecurity advisor
Direct supervisor was competent and knew the business.
Micro management, junior colleagues, over promising and under delivering. Grossly underpaid base salary. Variable comp never came anywhere close to close the gap to normal pay in other cybersecurity companies.
Cyber security engineer
The office is new and conveniently located.
My team all speaks Chinese at lunchtime, and it seems that middle management doesn't bother with it at all.
Consultant
Alot of interesting cyber security work. We do not just do run of the mill cyber work anymore although there is still a stream of this type of work. Consulting bosses are very good. I like their sense of purpose. Those who have worked in big 4 would know what life there is like, with all the restrictions and politics. Ensign is different. Colleagues are supportive and you can speak to anyone for anything. Company seems to be doing well financially also.
Short of staff and there is always pressure for more revenue. It is understandable but for technical people, its not easy to get. Pay is average. You need to like the work to stay. Ultimately, Ensign cannot beat the tech companies and banks in terms of salary lor.
Field engineer
Able to hone your skills and know your career path.
Must have a good resources
-good working environment depending on your department -managers and seniors will always guide you without giving you the answer -wlb is there, flexible depending on your department again -a good place to start
-salary increment is not there -promotions are based on time spent in office, people who work on-site alot is at a disadvantage
Soc analyst
A great company to start off when you are fresh in the job market.
Not really a ideal company to stay long term.
Consultant (pentester)
People are kinda nice and welcoming

1. Work is flexible. just get the result out. 2. there is a pool table next to my work station although no one use it during office hour :/ 3. Nice people, Friendly and mostly knowledgeable 4. Encourage touring the different work tower to expose yourself to different working style and environment 5. 21 days leave aint bad excluding family care...birthday leave...etc etc 6. Grab for business is good :D
1. Our team is S-E-V-E-R-E-L-Y short handed. even i dont get to see my boss like once a week. 5-7 project per head aint right especially when we do Day - 1 to abit of Day - 2 work. 2. the only walkable food source is crowded at lunch time. limited food source unless u take a bus or MRT.
Puts food on the table. People are nice (most of them anyway)
No work life balance, work is always brought home.
met some really good colleagues who help and support each other through tough times
- management is fixated on hitting sales target and clinching as many deals even during this COVID situation, with little to no regard on whether there are enough people to deliver the projects - little to no emphasis on training and development for employees or building real competencies and capability, as management just continue to bid for projects that neither the team nor management have any capability or experience to deliver - blatant favoritism shown by management to certain employees - Some teams are not even delivering any projects and just on the bench while other teams are swarmed with projects and the management still asks for more - Lack of compassion/empathy to employees' welfare and situation as management keeps pressuring employees to return to office even when the COVID situation was serious - Blame Culture enforced by the management and they do not give employees clear direction and pushes the responsibility towards employees and blames them when things go wrong
