1. Benefits are above average: - Around 18-21 days of leave, 2 days of family care leave, 1 birthday leave - Flexi benefit of about 1k every year to use - Health insurance, free health checkup 2. Office is big and nice. Three floors. 3. Bonus and increment is decent. (above 2 months and 4%)
1. Senior management seems to prioritise revenue above all else. Workload is very high and you will need to bring work home to complete without OT pay including on weekends and public holidays. Unfortunately, the effort you put in is unlikely to be appreciated. Even if you tank more projects to justify a promotion, management simply respond with, "Everyone else is also dealing with a heavy workload." 2. Speaking of promotion, it does not fully depend on technical skills or expertise but on how much revenue you can generate through sales and how well you can gain the favor of senior management. That girl who just joined may be promoted faster and given much more bonus just because she knows how to get close to management. You may also have to help out with sales even if its not in your job scope. They also implemented banding system to "allow more employees to promote". However, it actually slows down your promotion as realistically, you may only be promoted by 1 band every 1.5-2 years. So instead of getting promoted by 1 tier in 2 years, you are promoted 1 band in 2 years. By the way, 3 bands make up a tier. 3. Military culture - Almost all senior management comes from military background. Whether they have the technical expertise or not is for you to decide. Also, their vision seems to be only fixated at REVENUE. They are willing to "sell off" their employees as secondment to clients just to earn a little bit more revenue even when the team is already overworked. However, if you come from military background then it should be good for you cause you may be promoted quick. There are cases when a normal consultant is promoted to director within 2 years. 4. Sweat shop - Your job is to push out as many projects as possible to maximise revenue. When issue arises, you have to handle yourself, nobody will be there for you. 5. Lack of standardisation - Despite being a military culture, pay is not standardised. Employee of similar bandings maybe paid differently. Bonuses and promotions depends on the management's personal view. In short, if you are okay with high workload, low pay, favouritism, politics and a regimental culture, this is the place for you :)
