They fire you for anything

Marriott Int. has a big difference between the franchise HR ops. and mngt HR ops.. Franchise team members does not mean anything for them.

lots of RAs are under agency with only minimum wage and on-call set up. Rarely gets 5-day work day per week

Open on Holidays so you are required to work some.

High employee satisfaction and positive team dynamics.

I feel pay is slightly below market value. It’s a large organization so progress on projects can be pretty slow

I had a BAD DOS at the time but she was let go and anther wonderful person hired

- Schedule is only released Thursdays, so that's the earliest day you can know when or if you are working the weekend - Inconsistent hours unless you insist (especially during slow season) - Understaffed during peak season.

Upward movement is inconsistent and difficult beyond Director level, pay raises in general aren’t great

Leadership is not communicative and will do anything to protect their bottom-line regardless of performance. Don't count on job security.

They pick and chose who gets to move up regardless of experience.

Only negative is the difficulty to get into the department as people tend to stay for a long time.

Low salary across many departments. But it depends on brand and title. unfortunately hospitality industry is still not paying very good

Working with too many department if the hotel isn’t running efficiently it’s pretty bad working conditions. DOF controls your life.

I’m making this post in the hopes that it can keep the transgender community safe in the US. I have been practicing HR for 8+ years and recently separated from Marriott International. They have HR systems in the US that will display legal names to your entire property. If you have a legal name that would out you, this can pose safety issues.

There may be challenges in leadership's understanding and communication, which can sometimes lead to a lack of alignment or clarity within the team

Type of work we have to do is a lot and no support from management

Travel discount has gotten very expensive

Very strict management and low pay

no overtime allowed at the proeprty

Management can be more proactive about maintaining work culture

-strives for associate-first attitude through platitudes when really we would like to see better pay and compensation
