Director of restaurants
Benefits are great. Discount stock pricing- 401K contribution is really good. Healthcare is a bit pricey for highest tier but covers a lot. Typically industry hours 10-12 hours shifts. If your bosses are cool you can make short days
Long hours, management turnover, post Covid ramping up.
Server/waitress
Beautiful boutique hotel. Great design and feel. Small, so able to offer more personal service to guests. The hotel restaurant has amazing Mediterranean-based dishes. Great location.
Management is trying to cut costs at the front line. There is no need for a middle manager, as that money could be spent on additional staff rather than being understaffed, which affects guest service.
They give annual salary increase
They cut hours when occupancy is low
Event manager
benefits are decent, get to meet lots of people in different fields and departments - helps with your networking.
pay is pretty stingy, they have about a 15k salary range for the role which seems unreasonable for a management position. especially when they have no hesitation to continue adding on tasks for the role and not reflect it in the pay. favoritism runs rampant. leadership will NOT support you or have your back in a client dispute. they won't allow remote days for certain roles that are not customer facing and have no need to be on property, simply because of optics, resulting in resentment and limited work/life flexibility
Accountant
They were very flexible but this does vary property to property
Depending on who owns the structure/building. Staffing may be cut to meet certain expectations so your workload may be high.
