Company culture is pretty mature and solid for the most part. Most leaders lead instead of merely managing. It's not difficult to find a mentor or mentee. Everyone seems to pull their own weight and chip in when needed for the most part. You see lots of people's kids or relatives come in and work, which is rare these days. Upward mobility is expected, but not always straight forward. However, if you're willing to network and let managers know you want to grow, they will help you and internal promotion is common.

I joined recently and have been very impressed by every aspect of the Motorola Solutions organisation. The products and solutions are world class, the team are great, the company is constantly innovating and growing, and it is very mission focused too. I've also found that despite being a big company they run a relatively lean and efficient operation, which has been a pleasant surprise. The onboarding/training is thorough, and I've felt supported throughout the whole process. Overall, it's been great. For anyone considering joining the critical communications, public safety, or video security industry, I would encourage you to put Motorola Solutions at the top of your list.

I have been a Technical Writer at Motorola Solutions for ten years, and my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The technical documentation team is seen as a respected and necessary part of the product development lifecycle, not an afterthought. Professional Growth: Even within the same role, I've had the chance to grow immensely. I've become a subject-matter expert on complex systems, led documentation strategy for new product lines, and mentored junior writers. The company supports continuous learning. Great Collaboration: I work with some of the smartest engineers and product managers in the industry.
