Working at Motorola Solutions for the past 30 years has been an immensely enriching experience. It's a job I genuinely love, primarily because it keeps me at the cutting edge of technology. Being able to deliver innovative solutions for government and enterprise customers, contributing to the safety and security of citizens, is incredibly rewarding. Moreover, Motorola Solutions has provided me the opportunity to travel to various countries, allowing me to immerse myself in different cultures and broaden my horizons. The dynamic nature of this industry ensures that there's never a dull moment, constantly keeping me engaged and motivated.
Indeed, every job comes with its own set of challenges and my tenure at Motorola Solutions is no exception. Dealing with uncertainty often tests my resilience, and working nights and weekends can be quite demanding. However, the flip side of this coin is incredibly rewarding. The joy of winning business contracts, the satisfaction of not just meeting, but exceeding customer expectations, outweighs the occasional downsides. It's this fulfilling sense of accomplishment that keeps me driven and committed to delivering our best to every customer.

It has truly been an incredible journey with Motorola Solutions (MSI) and grateful for the opportunities, growth and the amazing team I had the privilege of working alongside. Given my passion for technology and MSI's focus on continuous innovation, I have the opportunity to learn something new everyday. I truly inspired by MSI's collaboration and its commitment to cultivate a positive company culture. I would like to thank everyone at MSI for being part of my growth and success, with a special thanks to Rui Davide and Gorka Perez for their support and recognitions.
While MSI focus on bringing in new products and technologies to the market, i feel that we should improve on customer focus.

Sr. product manager
My five-year journey with Motorola Solutions began when CAPE was acquired in 2019. Since then, I've had the privilege of serving in various capacities—starting as a Field Solutions Engineer, advancing to a Solution Architect, and now thriving as a Senior Product Manager. This progression speaks volumes about the company's commitment to employee growth and recognition of talent. The culture at Motorola Solutions fosters innovation and encourages initiative. As a result, I've been able to contribute significantly to our product offerings, focusing on bringing forward-thinking solutions to the market. The satisfaction ratings from my peers and superiors reflect the collaborative atmosphere that empowers us to exceed expectations consistently. Motorola Solutions has also demonstrated an outstanding commitment to professional development. They've invested in my growth, providing me with opportunities to enhance my skills and knowledge through various training programs and workshops. This support has been instrumental in my ability to adapt and excel in each role I've held. But it's not just about personal growth. The company's dedication to building and maintaining a strong team dynamic is remarkable. I've had the pleasure of working alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry, all while contributing to a shared vision that keeps us aligned and motivated. Solving for safer!
As with any large organization, there can be moments where processes and bureaucracy slow down innovation. However, I've found that feedback is welcomed, and channels are available to suggest improvements. The leadership team is responsive and often takes actionable steps to streamline operations.

Backend engineer
Large open org... with lots of comms... a sense of purpose and community. Great options for purchasing leave, doing charity work and a fantastic share buy-in program.
Haven't been here long enough to find the real problems yet. Onboarding was a bit clunky - but there are specific circumstances around that.
Team lead
Employs good people to learn from about the industry.
Lack of direction since acquisition. No long term plans.
Incident communications manager
Motorola Solutions genuinely cares about its employees, which is shamefully uncommon. I have access to excellent mentorship, honest feedback from management, and an environment where I can grow professionally. Most of the other Motorolans I work with have been with the company for many years, which says a lot. I feel truly lucky to have been given the opportunity to work for such a great company.
I honestly can't think of any serious cons. The only thing approaching a con is that it can sometimes take a while to backfill positions. I wouldn't attribute that to Motorola Solutions, though. It just takes a little longer to hire for any company of this size.

I've been in Motorola Solutions for 25 years - and I can honestly say it's been a great time. I've travelled the world, meeting colleagues and customers from all cultures - I've moved from one leading edge technology to another and which really suits my desire for life-long learning and creativity. I feel like my work is really respected and valued by Motorola and I have sufficient autonomy to make working here a pleasure.
I suppose there have been a few unhappy times - but honestly these are so insignificant compared to other jobs that I just don't focus on these
- Easy recruitment process - Good work/life balance

Good culture and ethos around emergency services and first responders. Great equipment, solutions and services. Close knit small team of people.

The team are super welcoming and readily willing to share their knowledge with you. The culture in the organization and what we deliver is like nothing I have experienced in previous employment. What we do really does matter!!! Everyone seems to appreciate that all new staff have a steep learning curve understanding proprietary hardware and software, and are conscious of not overloading on the information dumps.
None yet as I'm too new to the job!

Computer lab manager

Good working environment, friendly colleagues, understanding managers, plenty of celebrations for various project milestones, and plenty of company events aside from festive occasions. Flexible work hours for better work-life balance which benefits families with kids or for side hustles such as non-conflict side ventures or passion projects.
Career growth may seem slower for some employees due to unavoidable department restructuring. Patent submissions may also be a helpful factor in career opportunities aside from only years of experience or deliveries of assigned work. Yet, this may also be common for other MNCs, give and take.
