The experience, because it'll help you jump to an actually competent studio that values it's artists
They need to micromanage every single teeny tiny detail, so much so that they make it almost impossible for you to do your job. You'll get destructive and insidious feedback from leads that don't even know how to import an .fbx in any other modeling software that's not Maya. Middle and high management are wildly unprofessional and if you don't suck up to them they WILL NOT like you, which means that they will go out of their way to get you a salary decrease, a demotion or downright fired. All the while giving you empty explanations full of LinkedIn buzzwords without saying anything of substance. Salaries can be good, but mine definitely wasn't, and the expectations are usually, in my experience, way above the compensation. The estimates and deadlines are utterly laughable and a lot of artists are doing submerged unpaid overtime but nobody dares to say it out loud to the people in positions that could actually do something about it because they'll get told that it's their fault because they're not fast enough, or good enough or just bad artists. Overall this is a meat grinder of a company that doesn't care about it's artists. If you get hired get the money, get the experience and jump ship to a better studio.
medical insurance, give me good computer for work
Sometimes there are no projects and I have to do self-study assignments
Supportive and talented colleagues across departments. Artists, developers, designers form a strong and collaborative community. Local team environments are generally positive, and support teams (like logistics and IT) are always helpful and efficient despite being understaffed.
Top management lacks transparency and strategic communication. There’s no clear vision shared with employees. Major issues like client losses or failed internal projects are not addressed openly. Company-wide meetings feel performative, with repeated questions left unanswered. The removal of anonymity in Q&As discouraged open dialogue and contributed to declining morale.
Their professionalism and dedication to customer satisfaction are unmatched. The team was incredibly knowledgeable, responsive, and attentive to our needs.
The cuts were unpleasant, but the reasons for them were clear at the time
Room 8 Studio is a fantastic place to work as a 3D animator. The team culture is supportive, collaborative, and friendly — everyone is willing to help and share knowledge. Projects are exciting and provide great opportunities to grow creatively and professionally. The studio really values teamwork, and you always feel like part of a community.
Honestly, none that stand out — it’s been a very positive experience overall.
Positive environment and experience overall.
They try hard but comunication in english between workers is still a weak point.
The whole system works as a single well-coordinated mechanism.
Because of the strict system, sometimes there is not enough space for creative improvisation. But for some, this can be a pros
- Fellow artists are cool
worst management i have experienced expected to work overtime for free hostile environment and passive aggressive leaders
